We had an amazing experience at this dental office and I can’t recommend them enough—especially for families. The entire staff was patient, kind, and incredibly understanding with my son, who has autism. They took the time to make him feel comfortable, never rushed him, and truly met him where he was. I also want to give a special thank you to the receptionist, Alisha. She was so kind and patient, and didn’t mind at all when my son was talking and asking her questions. She made him feel heard and welcome from the moment we walked in, which meant so much to us. What truly stood out was their honesty and care. When they realized my son would be better served at a children’s dental office for the procedure he needed, they didn’t hesitate to refer us. That spoke volumes—it showed me they genuinely care about their pediatric patients and want what’s best for them, not just what’s convenient. As a military family, it was also a huge plus that they accept TRICARE. If you’re looking for a compassionate, ethical, and family-friendly dentist—especially for children with special needs—this is absolutely the place to go. We felt seen, respected, and genuinely cared for from start to finish.

This morning at 10:15 I called to make an appointment. I told the verynice person that awnsered what I needed. I figured two weeks out. How about 11:30? she asked. first time in, nade sure I felt welcome. and took care of my needs This is my Denest of choise. you can't go wrong here.

Wonderful experience, even though I needed work. All the staff, from the front desk to the RDA and the Dr were super kind, attentive and worked to help me with care and costs. Very friendly while still professional. Highly recommend them.

I have been having a series of work done at Gig Harbor Sunrise Dental with Dr. Tapia. She is so wonderful as are Jennifer and Shonda who have assisted. Dr was always making sure I was comfortable and went out of her way to accommodate me. The office staff and crew are so nice and kind. Please give them a try, you won’t be sorry.

Most likely the best dentist I've ever been to! Everyone there is super friendly and really knows what they are doing. They were able to fill my cavities and replace some old fillings in record time zero pain! Dr. Chu is extremely talented at what she does, and I really hope I'll get her the next time I need work done on my teeth 🙂

What an amazing experience we had with Dr Chu and her staff. They assisted my sister in law to get a new denture in record time! Alicia actually hand delivered the old one to the Tacoma office to speed things up for us. It fits perfectly. I would highly recommend Sunrise Dental, they are very caring, professional, and go above and beyond to help their clients!

From the beginning ,Alecia got the party started on the right foot. Very courteous and extremely knowledgeable she has been AWSOME! Dr Martin was equally Fantastic! I told the girls “I wanna give you a virtual hug” my teeth and my mouth feel soo much better! Jen was great! She is very good at easing my anxiety when it comes to visiting the Dentist.There are two things that I swear by…1.I didn’t STEAL a fire extinguisher and #2.Sunrise Dental Gig Harbor is the place to go if you’re needing to have ANY work done!
